Yu Dejie, born in May 1957 in Changde of Hunan Province, the current Assistant to the President of Hunan University, Deputy Director of Hunan University Development Planning Office, Director of "211 Project" & "985 Project" Office of Hunan University, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial CPPCC, Professor in College of Mechanical & Vehicle Engineering of Hunan University, and Doctoral Supervisor.

July 1998-August 2000: Executive Vice President of the College of Mechanical & Vehicle Engineering of Hunan University;
November 2001-December 2009: Vice President of Graduate School of Hunan University;
Since October 2009, serves as Deputy Director of Hunan University Development Planning Office;
Since December 2009, serves as Assistant to the President of Hunan University.
Professor Yu has long engaged in the research of equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, equipment maintenance and management, mechanical system dynamics, vibration and noise control and dynamic testing technique. He has successively undertaken more than 20 projects at ministerial or provincial level funded by the "863 Plan" and National Nature Science Foundation of China. He has published 2 monographs, and more than 200 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals such as Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, Journal of Sound and Vibration, NDT & E International, Journal of Quality in Maintenance Engineering, Mechanism and Machine Theory, Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, etc.; 50-odd are collected in SCI and EI. He wins 2 science and technology prizes at ministrial or provincial level.
