On the morning of September 19, a number of professors including Chairman of AMBA international certification panel Andrew Lock, Vice-president of Kingston University Martyn Jones, chief expert in China and Professor for School of Management-Zhejiang University Wang Chongming and Manager of AMBA certification service department and Fulbright scholar of Emory University George Iliev listened to the self-inspection report of AMBA certification and discussed it at the meeting room-B506. Meanwhile, principals and staffs from Business School including Vice-president Chen Shou, Secretary of school Party committee Liu Zeliang, Vice-secretary Cai Jianguo, Vice-dean Yuan Ling, Gong Guangming, Lei Hui and Yang Zhi, persons in charge of MBA/EMBA, AMBA certification in charge and teacher representatives participated in the symposium.
Vice-president Chen Shou delivered a speech on behalf of Hunan University and Dean Ma Chaoqun gave the experts an account of School’s vision, strategy and MBA/EMBA program’s development ideas. Simultaneously, the experts discussed resource allocation, curriculum management, paper assessment and international focus of MBA/EMBA self-inspection report with conventioneers. Soon after, a symposium was held between the experts, MAB/EMBA program candidates, alumina and teacher representatives in a bid to understand teaching cultivation and management minutely, with focus on teaching facilities, teaching quality, daily management and student involvement, goals and results as well as curriculums and assessment.
After two days’ evaluation, AMBA international certification delegation compiled the results of on-site assessment at 5 pm according to which MBA/EMBA educational programs attendees passed the assessment successfully. Moreover, they put forth constructive suggestions so as to speed up establishment of world-leading MBA/EMBA educational programs.
Additionally, it was realized that with close attention and substantial support from Hunan University, Graduate School and leaders of Business School, active participation from teachers and students of MBA/EMBA along with arduous efforts from AMBA certification office, the AMBA international certification could be passed successfully. Therefore, the School thanked all the contributions. Moreover, in addition to implementing AMBA international certification, School intends to boost overall development and promote school quality and international level for making the MBA/EMBA a world-class business educational program. For the purpose it will integrate global top-level business school group with international material.
Established in UK in 1967, AMBA—as the international certification organization of MBA/EMBA, is one of the most authoritative business educational certification systems. It has more than 200 certification member institutions around the globe, which provides a platform for equal communication between MBA/EMBA teachers, students and educational counterparts. Until December 31, 2013, 21 business schools in the mainland China and 2 in Hong Kong passed the AMBA international certification.
