The Launching Ceremony for Shanghai 2010 World Expo Hunan Week of Promotion and the Unveiling Ceremony for Haibo Settling in Hunan Province were held this morning at Dong fanghong Square at Hunan University.

Ms. Ganlin, vice-governor of Hunan Provincial People's Government, Mr. Zhou Hanmin, vice-director of Shanghai 2010 World Exposition Executive Committee and Mr. Long Guojiang, vice-chairman of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and other leaders attended the ceremonies.

Ms. Ganlin first addressed her sincere welcome to the launch of Shanghai 2010 World Expo Hunan week of Promotion. She stated that Hunan People will do their outmost to support this great cause. Mr. Zhou Hanmin, representing the executive committee of Expo, extended his heartfelt thanks to the Huan People's support, participation and great enthusiasm. He appealed for more attention and concerted efforts for the Expo, the glorious and great undertaking.

Later Ms. Ganlin and Mr. Zhou Hanmin unveiled the Mascot of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China together. The name of the mascot is Haibao, which means the treasure of the sea. The name of Haibao is easy to remember, echoes with the color of its body and is a typical lucky name in Chinese tradition. Haibao is the goodwill ambassador of Shanghai Expo. He is embracing friends from all over the world with his arms and confident smile.
